MyFax is a Canadian Internet faxing company based in Ottawa, Ontario. Launched in 2009 by Protus IP Solutions, MyFax is closing in on a half million subscribers. The company was acquired by j2 Global Communications, Inc. in 2010. JS Global are also the owners of eFax.

The MyFax website is simple and easy to navigate. Signing up isn’t complicated. You can choose from the three available plans. Signing up for the free trial is the best option because even if you exceed the fax limit, you can pay for the extra sent and received pages. You can set up service or contact customer service through the MyFax website as well.

Price

MyFax offers a free 30 day trial on its best value subscription service. With this trial, customers can receive up to 200 fax pages per month and can send up to 100. The subscription works with five email address, you can obtain a local fax number or a toll-free number at no additional cost. There are no setup fees, no contract and cancellation can be done at any time. If customers exceed their allowance of fax pages, they can pay ten cents per page. 

Three Price Plans

  • $10 per month, 300 pages (100 sent, 200 received). An annual plan is $9.17 per month.
  • $20 per month, 400 pages (200 sent, 200 received)
  • $40 per month, 800 pages (400 sent, 400 received)

EFax is also owned by j2 Global Communications. The same service of sending and receiving fax transmission digitally is offered by eFax. The service also offers mobile apps, digital signatures and allows for file sharing. The company was founded in 1997 as a service of JetFax, a maker of fax machines. In 2011, j2 purchased the rights to use the name.

Signing up for service is easy through the eFax website. Select the “Getting Started” tab from the home page, enter your country, state and city, then choose a fax number. Enter an email address where faxes will be delivered and then activate your account. You will provide credit card information on the next page. The How It Works section of the website give a step-by-step guide on how to send faxes using the phone app as well as online. The website also contains a number of videos, tutorials and infographics.

Price

The pricing structure for eFax is fixed at a monthly subscription fee of $16.95. There is a one-time activation fee of $10. The monthly fee included 150 outbound pages and 150 inbound pages. Each additional page sent or received is ten centers per page.

Not to be confused with Sfax, the city in Tunisia, sFax is an online document management company used primarily by the healthcare and lending industries to transfer sensitive documents electronically. Sfax is a part of the Scrypt company which merged with Axacore in 2015. Scrpyt also owns XDOC and FaxAgent. While they perform the same electronic fax capabilities, they are used primarily for transferring and storing sensitive healthcare documents.

Sfax offers the most options for pricing with six plans. Additional pages for all plans is ten cents per page. Here is a breakdown of the monthly pricing plans:
